Established in 1798 in the picturesque town of Pitlochry, the Blair Athol Distillery is one of the oldest working distilleries in Scotland. Blair Athol is the signature malt of the Bell's blend and the distillery is the "spiritual home" of Bell's.
This Flora and Fauna release is one of the few official bottlings ever produced from Blair Athol. The Flora & Fauna series initially consisted of 26 different Scotch Single Malts to highlight the diversity of Scotland's whisky regions.

Much of the whisky produced at Blair Athol distillery finds its way into blends such as Bell's and others. The majority of the whisky destined for blending is matured in ex-bourbon American Oak casks, with the relatively small proportion of whisky destined to be bottled as a single malt being matured in ex-sherry European Oak casks, giving a very different character to the whisky.
