Intense layers of apricot, peach, and pear aromas leap out of the glass. It has full flavours which combine tropical and zesty fruits of pineapples, melons, grapefruit, pears and citrus with a touch of minerality. It has a touch of glyceric fullness which gives it a lovely silky mouthfeel and great depth of flavour. It is structured and elegant at the same time with a long finish.

Founded in 1860, Bodegas As Laxas is a historic, family owned estate with a long tradition of winemaking. It was one of the first bodegas in the region to be awarded the status of DO Rias Baixas in 1988. They have continued to update their winery with the latest wine making facilities. Located in Arbo, on the banks of the River Miño, in the mountainous sub-zone of Condado de Tea in Pontevedra. The vineyards are over 30 years old and are on south-facing granite terraces, where they benefit from the influence of the Atlantic and the long hours of sunshine from this inland area of Rias Baixas.
The Albariño grape is difficult to grow, but produces exquisite wines that are aromatic, magnificently balanced and very flavourful. Research has shown that local yeasts are responsible for the aromatic character of the wine, and that yeasts are completely different from one vineyard to the next. The grapes are hand-picked into 20 kilo boxes and taken to the winery, cooled and then hand-selected before careful vinification.
This is a full flavoured, stylish, abundantly fruity Albariño with sufficient citrus acidity to make it refreshing, but not predominate. Delicious with anything from the sea!
