La Rioja Alta Vina Arana Gran Reserva (2016)

The quality of the 2016 vintage convinced La Rioja Alta SA to produce the fourth harvest of this red wine. Viña Arana Gran Reserva 2016 is crafted with tempranillo (95%) from the Las Cuevas, El Palo, and Las Monjas vineyards in Rodezno, along with 5% Graciano from the Montecillo vineyard in Fuenmayor.

The chilled grapes are transported in small boxes to the winery. The alcoholic fermentation took place in tanks for 16 days. After the malolactic fermentation, completed naturally, the best lots were selected to age for 36 months in American oak barrels made in-house with an average age of 4.5 years, being racked every 6 months using the traditional method.
