Barton Chenin Blanc (2017)

New

Barton Estate Chenin Blanc displays aromas of pears with hints of guava and honeyed notes. This is an attractive crisp, full-flavoured Chenin Blanc with a fresh palate of pears and tropical fruits. Overall this Barton Estate Chenin Blanc vintage is refreshing with excellent length; it has some mineral complexity, which is normally associated with higher priced Chenin Blanc’s.

Barton Vineyards lies at latitude 34 degrees south, 11 kilometres from the South Atlantic Ocean in the Walker Bay wine district of South Africa. The vines are planted on the south slopes of the Kogelberg Mountains at 190 metres above sea level where they absorb the cool breezes from Walker Bay, which come in every afternoon during the ripening season as the hot air rises.
