Toscana Sangiovese IGT 2021 is made from selections that fall outside the Brunello and Rosso regulations, allowing greater freedom in vinification. The 2021 vintage provided healthy fruit with good concentration and natural balance. Fermentation is spontaneous, with ageing carried out primarily in neutral vessels to emphasise fruit purity. The wine is supple and open, showing ripe cherry, redcurrant and a touch of earthy spice, with soft tannins and an approachable, food friendly profile.

Tenuta Le Potazzine is a small organic estate in Montalcino, Tuscany, founded in 1993 by Gigliola Giannetti. The name comes from a local expression meaning little birds, the affectionate nickname Gigliola’s mother gave to her daughters Viola and Sofia, who today work alongside her at the domaine. The estate farms around five hectares planted exclusively to Sangiovese, divided between the high altitude Le Prata plateau north of Montalcino at approximately 500 metres above sea level and lower lying parcels near Sant’Angelo in Colle. Vineyard work is entirely manual, with low yields and organic practices focused on preserving balance and site expression. In the cellar, vinification is resolutely traditional, with spontaneous fermentations and long ageing in large and medium sized Slavonian oak casks, aiming for finesse, clarity and longevity rather than power.
