Bouchard Finlayson Hannibal 2016/17
Bouchard Finlayson's Hannibal blend was originally prompted by the classic taste and palate of Italian varieties: Sangiovese and Nebbiolo. This wine is fresh and alive with a characteristic Italian mouthfeel reflecting fruity complexity. Olive and redcurrant flavours combine with cranberry to result in a lingering finish and complex mouthfeel.
Château Saintayme Saint Emilion Grand Cru 2015
This 100% Merlot cuvee from a 9 hectare plot offers intense fruit pastel aromas, fine herbs, black cherries with a hint of sandalwood and liquorice. It is mighty impressive with a big juicy core of fruit and a deep, gravelly, earthy minerality. There is plenty of intensity to the fruit, a good sappy quality, and really suave tannins.
VACQUERAS Cuvee de Saint-Roch 2006
Red robe with life in it, a Post Office red. Toffee on the nose, with red jam within the aroma. This is a get on and do wine; comes with an easy, sweet-toned manner, with a helpful late tannin spot that just adds a wisp of late breeze to it, a last coup d’appel. Stretches out nicely, has a red cherry aftertaste.
Te Awa Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
Te Awa’s merlot cabernet has a rather straightforward personality. It’s not as complex as some, but its direct, uncomplicated style gives good rein to a core of raspberry and plum aromas, dressed subtly in chocolatey oak. It has easy texture and medium body, balanced by a dry edge of tannin.
VILLA RAGAZZI Sangiovese Napa Valley 2014
All Calistoga fruit, which as the hottest AVA of Napa Valley belies the old-world style of this wine. All red fruits here (raspberry sauce, cranberry, wild red cherry) with intriguing savory qualities like beef broth, cremini mushroom, pink grapefruit and pink peppercorns. At 13.3% alcohol, shining acidity and low oak influence, this is easily confused for Tuscany (Italy) Sangiovese.
Casa Albali Crianza 2015
This super red wine by Casa Albali is produced in the Valdepeñas area of Castilla - La Mancha. Casa Albali Crianza is a delicious wine, made with Tempranillo, A heady mix of cherry fruit and spice – great with steak, lamb or roasted vegetables.
