Domaine Monplezy, Felicite Rouge (2022)

New

The nose opens with liquorice and black pepper, followed by roasted notes of coffee and cocoa, reflecting the wine’s complexity. On the palate, it’s powerful, dense, and rounded, finishing velvety and smooth, with layers of ripe dark fruits, subtle earthiness, and aromatic intensity.

Domaine Monplézy sits just north of Béziers on a hillside overlooking the Mediterranean. A family estate with roots back to the 18th century, the Monplézy team combines traditional, hands-on winemaking with organic and biodynamic practices. The estate fosters biodiversity and works within a protected natural reserve, capturing the essence of its unique terroir in every bottle.

    How it’s made:

    • Grapes: 2022 blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan
    • Harvest: Hand-picked in small 12 kg crates at optimal ripeness
    • Vinification: Traditional 15-day fermentation for Grenache and Syrah; carbonic maceration for Carignan
    • Ageing: 12 months in French oak barrels (1–4 years old) for integrated structure and subtle wood influence
    • Organic, low-intervention winemaking for maximum expression of terroir
