Bollinger Rosé 2006 is the very first limited edition from Champagne Bollinger exclusively dedicate to a rosé.

A unique expression of the 2006 vintage by Bollinger:

2006 was a good year climatically. A typical and full of contrasts, the year was marked by a very cold winter and a very hot summer. This inspired the Cellar Master to blend a unique cuvée, one that would be able to fully express the identity of this vintage.

    Tasting Notes:
A brilliant salmon-pink colour. On the nose subtle aromas of warm tobacco, chocolate, mocha and roasted coffee notes, followed by the fragrance of dried flowers and peony, and finally notes of dried fruits and fruit compote, especially quince.

In the mouth, a fullness that complements the density of the wine, mature aromas, fruit jellies and honey.

A great deal of length on the palate and a wonderfully fresh finish with notes of blood orange and mandarin peel.

    Blend:
    72% Pinot Noir, 28% Chardonnay
7% still red wine (100% Pinot Noir) added in the blend

    Winemaking:
Only 9 crus were selected to create this particular cuvée, while Bollinger vintage cuvées generally have double in their blends: Aÿ 39% + 7% Côte aux Enfants, Verzenay14%, Tauxières7%, Mareuil 5%, Cramant 8%, Oger 7%, Chouilly5%, Avize 4%, Cuis 4%.

A total of 9 crus (Grand and Premier Crus), with an average vineyard rating of 99.6%

The perfect combination of these remarkable and carefully selected Grands & Premiers crus, considered to be the most representative of the harvest, and this exceptional vintage for red wine.

The 2006 harvest also gave the opportunity to make an exceptional red wine, one of the great savoir-faire of the House and a symbol of its expertise with the Pinot Noir grape.

Over 10 years, this period of time has allowed this wine to age perfectly. An exceptionally long ageing and necessary to allow the singular character of this vintage to reveal itself.

One of the greatest names in Champagne, the House of Bollinger has been steadily growing since 1829. Founded by Jacques Bollinger and Paul Renaudin, the largest expansion took place during the mid- to late-1990s under the leadership of Madame Lily Bollinger. Today, the legendary estate is run by her great-nephew, Ghislain de Montgolfier. Their international reputation has been driven by their commitment to producing sophisticated, yet powerful and complex, Pinot Noir dominated Champagnes. The non-vintage Special Cuvée is classy stuff, a rich and full bodied sparkling. While the exceptional Grande Année and Grande Anneé Rosé are also top-of-the-line benchmark Champagnes. The noteworthy Champagne R.D. (récemment dégorgé or recently disgorged), benefits from up to ten years on the lees, the creamy, even toasty flavors make this exceptionally well-balanced wine a signature Bollinger.
