Volnay Vieilles Vignes (2021) Maison Roche de Bellene

New

From vines averaging 60 years in age, Nicolas said that this wine shows the charms of a “solar year”. Plum and morello cherry on the nose. With a rewarding intensity and sweetness, this has an easy mid-palate richness. The tannins are rounded with a pleasing subtlety and easy finish.

Maison Roche de Bellene was founded in 2008 by Nicolas Potel after he parted company with his previous partners who own the right to the `Nicolas Potel` label. Located in Burgundy`s Cote de Beaune, the estate is working towards full biodynamic status and currently they use a number of natural and sustainable processes to produce their wines. Nicolas works with a number of growers and has an old-vine strategy, with the oldest vines well over 100. Nicolas is one of the most exciting ‘new generation’ winemakers in Burgundy producing exceptional vintages year after year.
