With most of the grape growers in the Mâconnais farmers of mixed pursuits who own only around a hectare of vines each, co-operatives have long been vital to the region and are among the country’s best. Based near Tournus, the Vignerons de Mancy is a group of 80 growers who produce some of the best value wines in Burgundy.
100% Chardonnay The fruit is part hand harvested and part machine harvested, crushed, drained and gently pressed. There then follows a natural must clarification before alcoholic fermentation at a maximum of 20C in stainless steel tanks using selected yeasts. The wine goes through mlf in tank and is aged with its lees for 10 months prior to bottling.
