Château Noaillac 2015 shines with its fine ruby colour, aromatic bouquet of abundant dark berry aroma, a trace of vanilla, violet, tobacco, pepper and roasted aromas on the nose. On the palate it develops with plentiful fruit, showing blackcurrant and blueberries, paired with a little plum. There are also notes of vanilla, bittersweet, pepper and oak, and soft tannins. The wine is full-bodied with a long finish.

A rising star. Damien, Marc Pages’s grandson has taken over the running of this property. Around 40 years ago, the family discovered that the soil in this northerly part of the Médoc had once produced excellent wines but the land had been abandoned. Now with 49 hectares, and the vines becoming older, 20-25 years on average, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 55% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, a new chai with rows of temperature controlled stainless steel vats and an immaculate barrel cellar. Château Noaillac is now producing succulent, lovely early drinking claret.
