The vineyard
Patiently constituted and assembled by the lawyer Pierre Ducasse in the 18th century, the Chateau Grand Puy Ducasse vineyard extends over 40 hectares spread over three large plots. The vines, aged 25 years on average, are planted on silico-gravelly Garonne gravel terroirs.
Winemaking and ageing
Once the harvest has been carried out by hand and the grapes have been rigorously selected by manual then optical sorting, the vinification is carried out in thermoregulated stainless steel vats. Some of the batches carry out their malolactic fermentation in new barrels. The wine is aged in French oak barrels, 35% of which are new.
The wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
