Deep purple core and bright purple rim. Deep, dark and charry. Combination of ripe and intense cassis and a rocky, more savoury quality to add complexity, yet it's scented too. Tannins are incredibly fine, many-layered, dry and yet supple. And great freshness.

Clos du Marquis, Medoc’s historic trademark, comes from the best vineyards of the Saint-Julien appellation: Petit Clos (small walled parcel). The vineyard is directly adjacent to Marquis de Las Cases’ residence: Château de Léoville.
The vintage structure, complexity, and harmony perfectly convey the distinctive character of great Saint-Julien wines. The superb balance brings a certain distinction to the wine, suggesting outstanding ageing potential. This Clos du Marquis reveals lovely complex nose. Intense and creamy, with superb mid-palate and beautiful finish.
