The 2015 Les Forts de Latour is silky, perfumed and wonderfully nuanced from the very first taste. Crushed red berry, cedar, tobacco, mint and blood orange lend striking aromatic nuance. Ample and resonant in feel, yet with mid-weight structure, the 2015 is a total pleasure to taste today. All of the natural radiance of the warm year comes through in the wine's generous, inviting personality. Drink it over the next 15 years or so. Drink 2021-2035.

Some call Les Forts the second wine of Latour but in truth it is far more than that – it is a terroir-specific wine with dedicated vineyards and quality to rival most grands vins. Very dense, tight, closed on the nose. Vigorous swirling releases some fine blackcurrant notes. Lovely supple texture, still structured, but with seamless style. Quite voluptuous in style, pretty rather than powerful, with ripe blackcurrant, touch of mint and black tea, and a bright, vibrant finish. (63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 1% Petit Verdot.)
