An elegant and rich second wine from Saint-Estèphe
If the selection of the best lots - used to produce a great wine - also makes it possible to elaborate the second wine with as much attention and care as the first, Dame de Montrose 2016 strongly confirms the rule with this exceptional vintage. The lots carefully selected for Montrose have made it possible to endow the second wine, Dame de Montrose, with highly qualitative organoleptic characters rarely achieved in a second wine. Produced from a blend of 52% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc and 11% Petit Verdot, Dame de Montrose 2016 boasts fantastic structure and depth.
Very dense with a dark and inky hue, Dame de Montrose 2016 combines aromatic power, boldness and deliciousness. The wine is a veritable bowl of red fruits combined with a balsamic fragrance contributing freshness. Upon stirring, this wine becomes spicy (Petit Verdot very clearly expressed) and develops infinitely. On the palate, this Saint-Estèphe displays amplitude both on the attack and in the mid-palate. The tannic pattern is superb with an unusual breadth for a second wine. The finish is bathed in fruit, elegant and fresh. This wine is a great achievement.
