    Michael Opitz feels passionately about sustainability and quality, prompting his decision to convert this small family winery into being organic and as natural as possible on every level. Michael is happy to go against the grain, creating unique friendships with rare yet harmonious varietal blends.

    His Buddy Talk red and white wines, for example, are made from Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt and Roesler, and Muskat Ottonel, Muskateller and Sauvignon Blanc respectively. All the wines are defined by their environment and are tremendously pure, fresh, fragrant and yet salty. The Neusiedlersee or Seewinkel, is a saltwater lake that brings tempering breezes, freshness and protection from disease in this flat, warm part of Austria. As an outdoor avid climber, this is part of Michael’s storytelling; he includes frequent reference to this passion through his eye-catching labels.
