JJ Hahn is a premium Barossa Valley winery created as a joint venture between the Hahn family and Rolf Binder. Over the years the brand picked up quickly in the market, with wines such as the 1914 and 1918 Shiraz receiving noteworthy accolades. In 2010, the Hahns retired from the business and Rolf retained co-ownership of the brand, winemaking and vineyard management. He continues to make the wines under the same label and has grown the business in many countries.
This single-vineyard Shiraz was aged for 22 months in a mixture of French (50%) and American oak (50%) barrels, then blended to create a full-bodied, yet juicy vibrant style. It flaunts a bright brick red colour with deep red lights. On the nose, it exudes lifted aromas of vanilla, mocha, dark chocolate and liquorice. The full-bodied palate reveals similar flavours along with plum and red berry notes. These characters are complemented by refreshing acidity and smooth tannins, paving the way for a long finish. Enjoy this beauty with beef or lamb dishes.
