Founded in 1883, Trapiche is one of Argentina’s leading wineries. Twice they have won ‘Argentine Wine Producer of the Year’ at the International Wine & Spirit Competition and in 2019 'New World Winery of the Year'. Every year, Daniel Pi, one of the most capable and knowledgeable winemakers in the country, chooses the three best Malbecs from a collection of 90 separate vineyards for their premium Single Vineyard range. The grapes for the Finca Orellana come from a magnificent, 70 year old, high altitude, slow ripening vineyard. They were hand harvested, vinified in small open fermenters and matured for 18 months in new French oak.
Since its early days, Trapiche has made extensive forays into terroirs that offer extraordinary potential for the crafting of unique wines, following a philosophy inspired by the richness of diversity. Terroir Series stands as the result of this quest: a range of wines reflecting the ultimate terroir expression of our Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, specially selected among all producers every year by Sergio Casé, Trapiche’s Chief Winemaker.
