Domaine Zinck Riesling (2017)

New

Located in Eguisheim, the calcareous clay soil of the Eichberg Grand Cru vineyards develops rich, opulent wines built on solid minerality. The nose of the wine is precise and elegant; marked by a high degree of minerality, it suggests fresh notes of grapefruit, lemongrass and flint. On the palate, the wine proves to be lively and chiselled; this Riesling is completely dry with a vivacious character.

The Zincks have been cultivators, growing vines alongside mixed agriculture on the family farm, for generations. In 1964, the Domaine started with 6 acres of vines. It has grown to cover more than 50 acres in Eguisheim, a popular village on the Alsace Wine Route, well known for its beauty and gastronomy. The winery has been driven by entrepreneurship since its inception: Domaine Zinck is run by Philippe and his wife, Pascale. The estate consists of 56 acres of vineyards that are being farmed organically. Each vine is tended by hand and is harvested by hand. This is done to increase and insure the highest quality is attained, and the true character of the terroir is retained. Winemakers Philippe Zinck and his father Paul make food-friendly wines that deliver Alsace’s hallmark pure expression.
