The name for this expression comes from a mysterious peat bog on the western side of Arran. Not only will you find peat at Machrie Moor, but stone circles too - one of which was apparently used by a giant to tether its dog to. Hence the dog on the label.
The nose has characteristic Arran notes of citrus and sweet spice, with vanilla and cinnamon emerging. The palate is sweet and honeyed with vanilla, coconut and pineapple, before a long, sweet finish with lingering fruity aspects.
Part of the Arran Cask Finishes range, this expression has spent the last few years of its maturation in a Sauternes sweet wine cask to give this single malt a honeyed sweetness.
A more recent release from the Auchentoshan distillery, replacing the previous staple 10-year-old, this 12-year-old bottling launched at the same time Auchentoshan had a dramatic rebrand back in 2011.
From the Auchentoshan distillery in the Scottish Lowlands comes a triple distilled single malt Scotch whisky aged entirely in first fill American oak casks. A light, bright whisky with plenty of vanilla sweetness at its centre - great as an aperitif dram.
Auchentoshan Sauvignon Blanc brings together the best of two worlds. It is a unique marriage of fresh citrus and apple flavours from Sauvignon Blanc and the smooth triple distilled taste of award-winning Auchentoshan single malt Scotch whisky.
The distillery says – “Eager to experiment with The Balvenie profile using what he had learnt from a recent trip to Islay, distillery manager Ian Millar ordered a batch of Speyside peat for the kiln. For a week a year, The Balvenie distills a batch of peated malt, resulting in a whisky rich in honey, vanilla and citrus notes with an extra...
Matured in traditional oak whisky casks for 14 years, and then 'finished' in casks that previously held Caribbean rum. To create the ideal finish the Malt Master filled American oak casks with his own blend of select West Indian rums. When he judged the casks to be ready, the rum was replaced with the 14 year old spirit and the wood was put to work adding...
Balvenie DoubleWood is, to not much surprise, aged in two kinds of oak casks! It was firstly matured in refill American oak casks before it was treated to a finish in first fill European oak Oloroso sherry butts for an additional nine months. The expression was launched in 1993, and has become a somewhat iconic whisky over the years. Even at 12...

Nose: Quite soft and gentle. Malted barley and hints of cut herbs and a fresh floral note. Cereal and grist with a little honey. Palate: Quite smooth, medium body. Barley and cereals with nut oils, hints of wood and spice. Finish: Short with notes of fruitcake and smoke.
This BenRiach 10 Year Old marks a significant milestone – it is the first expression from the Benriach core range to be created predominantly from whiskies distilled at BenRiach since Billy Walker took over in 2004. BenRiach fans will not be disappointed with soft and rich notes coming to the fore. Typical sherry notes all also in the mix which all...
