Full lively taste. Black fruit. Blackberries. Concentrated with beautiful spiciness. Well interwoven, excellent in balance.
A rich bouquet with fine and spicy aromas. Ruby to dark garnet in colour. The nose unveils a bouquet of red fruits with tight grain, finesse of tannins. It will evolve towards wild nuances of undergrowth and truffles. On the palate, this Gigondas is full-bodied with a fleshy attack.
A wonderful and soulful Vacqueyras, full of the region’s famous garrigue (a spicy, herbal notes that is irresistible for Rhone fiends). Based largely on Grenache, as all Vacqueyras must be by law, this 2015 is packed with ripe boysenberry and raspberry fruit culminating in a very pretty, graceful finish.
Filled with red fruit aromas and elegant tannins, this wine is a fine expression of this up-and-coming appellation from the northern Rhône.
Guigal's Gigondas offers up a luscious mouthful of pomegranate and raspberry fruit. Sourced from higher elevations within the appellation, it's full-bodied and velvety, but it retains a paradoxical sense of lightness and remains easy to drink, adding hints of garrigue on the finish.
The 2011 shows a wonderfully perfumed nose reminiscent of the finest La Chapelles. It opens up beautifully in the glass, with an array of those hallmark plum and deliciously meaty notes. Just into a sweet spot in its maturity a really lovely La Chapelle to enjoy now and into the 2030s.
