Almaraz Blanco is a delicious new arrival from Rioja and Bodegas del Medievo. A light, fresh, un-oaked white Rioja showing the typical pear and apple aromas. Flavours of pears and peaches coupled with a citrus uplift from Sauvignon Blanc in the blend. A really refreshing and lightly rounded white Rioja; great value.
Intense dark cherry red; very clean and bright, with a lively ruby-red rim. The nose uncovers intense notes of wild berries and ripe fruit enveloping a rich balsamic core of sweet spices, cocoa, liquorice and mild herb scents. Really smooth, but with a lot of complexity, gradually growing wider, with more intense saline and savoury notes. Touches of herbal bitterness and mineral notes. Toasted hazelnuts. Very yeasty but at the same time some fruity notes before moving into a long, salty and warming finish. Gold Medal - International Wine Challenge Trophy...
