The Dakine Merlot is crafted in an elegant and restrained style showing good texture and appetizingly grainy tannins. The “secret sauce” is the blending of 19 percent Malbec, which is grown in the Dakine Vineyard alongside the Merlot. The red currant, cedar and dried herb aromas have a hint of chocolate, and on the palate, black cherry predominates with notes of forest floor, mocha and graphite.
