Fattoria dei Barbi 'Brusco dei Barbi' (2015)

New

Lovely, classic 'Italian wine' aromas of mulberry and dried cherry, espresso, vanilla and cream. Delicious - light, summery texture yet with layered, complex flavours of summer fruits.

Rich, textured and silky smooth, it’s jam-packed with ripe black cherry and plum fruit, laced with herbs. Italian reds have a lovely, characteristic freshness, and this is a classic. Soft, rounded, and beckoning, it’s an absolute winner and a great food wine

Tuscany is synonymous with Chianti, but there exists a treasure trove of high quality, glorious wines, which don’t bear the name, Chianti, or Brunello, because of complex Italian wine regulations… and these are the ones to sniff out, as , with their simple ‘Vino de Toscana’ labeling, they offer far better value, and higher quality than many with the ‘posh’ names. This one’s a classic; it’s made by a leading Chianti wine producer, but in an area outside the Chianti ‘borders’. It knocks spots off far more expensive Chiantis.
